Artbreak, South London’s post-punk five piece, announce their debut single, ‘Will To Survive,’ released June 01 via Audioboom.

The band have been gaining underground attention by sharing their demos and videos via Soundcloud and YouTube, under a defiant ‘no albums, no EPs’ banner’. Their live shows regularly whip up a storm of excitement with singer Cole Salewicz’s booming, strident voice tinged with a lyrical vulnerability and heart-on-sleeve honesty. Blending instinctive pop sensibilities with a love of turning preconceptions on their head via post-punk spikiness, it’s no wonder that, even ahead of the release of their first official single, they’ve already been invited to support a number of big name admirers like Adam Ant and Primal Scream.

‘Will To Survive’ combines indie thrust, a touch of reggae skank, falsetto backing vocals and a whole host of other influences to create a whirlwind of sound that’s been and gone in under three minutes, urging to press play and experience it all over again.

Recently produced by legendary producer Tony Visconti (Bowie/T-Rex/Morrissey) in West London, who has worked with them on their new material. The song was penned as a furious and immediate reaction to the appointment of Donald Trump as US president, taking the classic outsider rock ‘n’ roll position of sticking two fingers up to authority and being whoever the hell you are rather than what society expects you to be. Salewicz traces that central day-to-day struggle from the playground through to adult life as the track careers towards an intense climax.
