‘It Ain’t Easy’ was the debut single from The Red Lapels; alt indie, raw and fussy with distinctive raucous vocals supplied by Richard Maddy. The songs have a strong storytelling ethic with vintage, old style rock and roll, soul vibes and mod tones. We built up awareness around the single, as well as the more feisty ’Eyes Like Knives’, gaining exposure across a number of online magazines including Shout4Music, The Upcoming and Glasswerks Magazine. We also assisted with artist programming which included a night at The Wheelbarrow curated by Mark Beaumont and Dan Martin from NME, as well as Club Radio Free Europe at The Miller, where they supported an Estonian Showcase of bands curated by A.P. Childs and Stuart Gadd from Artrocker.
